Admission Procedure

All engineering schools and polytechnics in Odisha are managed by the Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Cuttack. They conduct admissions centrally. Applications are invited ONLINE during the 2nd or 3rd week of April each year. Selection is based on merit only. Seat reservations follow government rules. The ONLINE application form is available at dtet.odisha.gov.in and www.samsodisha.gov.in. Fill the form correctly and submit it ONLINE before the deadline.

Extra Seats Available:

  1. 5% extra seats are available in each branch for students who get fee waiver (TFW).
  2. 10% extra seats for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students. This does not affect existing reservations.
  3. 2 extra seats in each branch for children who lost both parents during COVID-19. They need a PMCARES certificate.

Reserved Seats:

Some seats are reserved for different categories as per government rules. Here are the details:

Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme:

Students whose family income is less than Rs. 8 lakh per yearcan apply for fee waiver. This income should be from all sources.

Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Scheme:

This is for students who are not SC/ST but come from economically weak families. Their family income should be similar to TFW applicants. They need an Income & Asset Certificate from Odisha government authorities in the prescribed format.
